Gay pride calendar
Gay pride festivals and gay pride parades are a fantastic chance for the LGBTQ community to come together and celebrate pride and culture with the gay pride flag flying high. But gay pride events also offer an important chance for the LGBTQ community to demonstrate for rights such as same-sex marriage and equality, and pay tribute those who came before us and fought for our rights to celebrate LGBT pride – with pride.
Due to the Covid-19 global pandemic, gay pride 2020 was a little disappointing. Our beloved prides were either cancelled or shifted online, and many of us were forced to wave our rainbow flags within the confines of our four walls. Having more or less missed out on 2020 pride, we imagine you have many questions about gay pride 2021. When is pride day 2021? When is pride month 2021, or pride week 2021? Is there a world pride 2021? As per usual Gay Pride Month 2021 will take place in June, with Gay Pride Day transpiring on June 28, to commemorate the Stonewall Riots of 1969. At this stage, the Gay Pride Calendar 2021 is dependent on global trends and governmental restrictions with regards to Covid-19. So stay tuned to our Gay Pride Calendar for real time updates on pride dates 2021, which prides will be shifting online, and which prides will be canceled.
At this stage, we’re feeling positive about an active, lively Gay Pride 2021, and we’re even more confident that you’ll be able to experience a more welcoming world by booking your pride accommodation with misterb&b. So what are you waiting for to enjoy your pride day 2021? Get planning, get booking, then get your gay pride flags and whistles at the ready for your dream gay pride parade! New York, Los Angeles, London, Palm Springs, Rio de Janeiro, Berlin, Sydney, Paris, Taiwan… Which gay pride will we be hopefully seeing you at this year? Check our pride month calendar 2021 for May and June events, or make plans for later prides in Fort Lauderdale, Benidorm or Cape Town. With our dedicated Gay Pride 2021 Calendar, you can get all the necessary details on prides across the globe, including pride dates, pride locations, and pride parade 2021 routes.
Boston pride update
Posted: July 9, 2021 4:30pmFor years, we have volunteered our time with Boston Pride because we care about and are passionate about the LGBTQIA+ community. We strived to foster an environment of diversity and unity within our organization and the community. Over the past 50 years, Boston Pride has facilitated programs and events that have changed our society and promoted equality, but we know there is still work to be done.
Over the past year, we have invested time and energy to address the concerns of the community, both with our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Access work with Dorrington & Saunders and by forming the Transformation Advisory Committee comprised of members of the LGBTQIA+ community to help bring change to our organization. We are grateful for all who have been involved in this process.
It is clear to us that our community needs and wants change without the involvement of Boston Pride. We have heard the concerns of the QTBIPOC community and others. We care too much to stand in the way. Therefore, Boston Pride is dissolving. There will be no further events or programming planned, and the board is taking steps to close down the organization.
We know many people care about Pride in Boston, and we encourage them to continue the work. By making the decision to close down, we hope new leaders will emerge from the community to lead the Pride movement in Boston.
This decision was made with a heavy heart, out of love and hope for a better future.

Update: how covid-19 impacted the lgbtq community in 2020
The global coronavirus pandemic brought with it the cancellation of some of our most-loved LGBTQ events including the majority of gay pride events across the planet. Covid-19 has shaken the world, and caused more than 500 prides across the globe to be canceled in 2020. Some events were postponed, others moved online. For 2021, we are staying positive, but we will update our Gay Pride Calendar page regularly to ensure accurate information is shared. For more details, please check individual events below and stay proud.

Join in the queer scene celebrations
Every July in Berlin the pulse of the queer scene beats even stronger. Pride Weeks are a highlight of the Berlin events calendar, when the capital celebrates respect and tolerance at the Lesbian and Gay Street Festival and Christopher Street Day (Berlin Pride). You can celebrate homosexuality, transsexuality and intersexuality at events on almost every day, especially around Nollendorfplatz in Schöneberg – the epicentre of the LGBTI scene. Furthermore, there are also other events during the year that are specifically oriented towards people who are not heterosexual – such as the STICKS & STONES career fair or the “Gender, Sexuality, Queer and Trans Studies Write Back” symposium.

About gay pride berlin (csd berlin)
Berlin Gay Pride, commonly referred to as Berlin CSD, is one of Europe’s biggest gay prides, with gay parties and events taking place all over the creative capital. The first Berlin Pride or Christopher Street Day (CSD) Berlin was celebrated back in 1979, and it was said that roughly 450 people attended. The aim of CSD Berlin (which still remains to this day) was to promote LGBTQ visibility in the city, and in Germany as a whole, and rally for equal rights and anti-discrimination based on sexual orientation.
Nowadays, roughly 500,000 people celebrate Gay Pride Berlin, filling the city streets with plenty of revelry! This makes it the largest Pride Parade in Germany, and one of the biggest in Europe. After all, Berlin is one of Europe’s premier gay and party destinations, so could we have expected anything less? The parade normally runs from from Kurfürstendamm to the Brandenburg Gate, ending with a lively concert which welcomes special guest stars and goes well into the night.
But CSD Berlin is more than just a parade. Pride Month includes a host of LGBTQ-related events, with the final Pride Week in mid-June including some of the largest festivities. You can enjoy everything from film screenings to pride boat parties, just be sure to arrive in Berlin with an open-mind and party spirits, and you won’t be disappointed during Berlin Gay Pride.
Running side-by-side with the main Berlin Pride, is also the even smaller Pride Parade called Kreuzberg Pride, which is held each year alongside Dyke March. These prides are said to be a little less politicized and have a more local vibe, should you like to keep things a little more chill. So if you’re looking for one of the most comprehensive and popular prides of Europe, be sure to pencil in Berlin CSD to your pride calendar this year, and experience your pride the Deutsch way!
Program for gay pride berlin (csd berlin)
The following is the event program of a past pride edition. Stay tuned for the 2021 program.
Due to the Coronavirus – Covid-19 currently affecting the globe, Berlin Pride 2020 will be a little different. While a parade and all the outdoor concerts we’ve grown accustomed to will not transpire this year, there will be an online Berlin Pride on July 25, which you can stream directly from the comfort and safety of your own living room. Full details are yet to be revealed, so stay tuned, and prepare to experience Berlin Pride in a new light for 2020. We can tell you, however, that the motto for Berlin Pride 2020 will be ‘Don’t Hide Your Pride’, which was voted by the local community, and has already sold us!
Just like the normal Berlin CSD, which offers plenty of different options for varying tastes, Berlin Pride 2020 will comprise several streams, with alternative stages and performers featured on each. We will update the details accordingly, as information is released.

Helsinki pride
Helsinki Pride is one of the largest LGBTQ+ events in Finland throughout the year. Scandinavian countries are known for their hospitality and LGBTQ inclusivity. Finland is a very welcoming country and you will feel the love as soon as you set foot in this beautiful country.
The cultural program is filled in with events from a variety of LGBTQ bear-magazine.com, there’s a lot to see and due during Pride Week in Helsinki. There will be discussion events, but you can also expect quite a few memorable parties during and after the march.
Reykjavik
You can also find LGBTQ+ pride in Iceland! Reykjavik hosts the largest LGBTQ+ event in Iceland each year. Even though the island is a little more separate from the mainland, you can still find a decent pride party over there!
The events in Reykjavik last for over a week, with the summit on Parade day. Different setting are being used for different events. So, there will be things to see and do in multiple locations across the island. Actually, you can attend quite a few small parades all around the country. Of course, the main event is held in the streets of the capital Reykjavik.
There are a lot of cultural and discussion events, but a massive street party is the perfect way to gather people from all of the world in order to share the love!
Paris pride
France has a lot to offer: dozens of beautiful cities and stunning rural areas. Each of the larger cities hosts its own local pride event, the largest of which is held in the capital Paris. France hosts events in Rouen, Bordeaux, Orleans, Metz, Lyon, Marseille, and a few other locations. You can easily spend all summer in France and enjoy the different events in each location!
During Pride month in Paris, there’s a lesbian and feminist film festival and an LGBTQ+ film festival. So, film lovers will have an interesting time in the capital of France! Aside from film, there’s a lot more to see and do for queer people in Paris.
Don’t forget to check out the calendar on the official website. It shows events for different cities and separate events in each location!
Stockholm pride
Stockholm organises the largest LGBTQ+ event in Sweden each year. And this year is no different. Sweden is also a part of the Scandinavian peninsula and this happens to be a very interesting region to visit, especially as an LGBTQ+ traveler.
Sweden is a super welcoming place for LGBTQ+, so attending pride in Stockholm is bound to be a success! The events last for an entire week, with the highlight during the pride march. There will be a fair, a parade, a digital version of the event, and of course: parties all over the city!
Oslo pride
Oslo Pride is still the largest transgender, lesbian, and gay pride in Norway. And the event is not exclusively for L,G, and T visitors, of course. Everyone in the LGBTQ+ community and beyond is welcome to join for this massive celebration of diversity.
Oslo is celebrating love during a 10-day festival in June each year. The actual March is happening on the last day and it is the big highlight of the festival. Oslo has a sublime location by the water and they beautifully integrate that location into the event.
Pride House is the location of the Art exhibit and there will be possibilities to engage into the LGBT scene or gain information.
Milan pride
Milan Pride is the largest LGBT event in the North of Italy. A few years ago, over 250 thousand visitors attended the LGBTQ+ Parade in Milan and this year they’re even expecting more visitors.
Usually, during the LGBTQ event Week, visitors can attend workshops, movies, theatre performances, parties, and other LGBT activities, like Miss Drag queen or Mister Gay North Italy.
Amsterdam pride
Each year, Amsterdam hosts the Canal Pride, which is a unique event in Europe. Rainbow coloured ships float on the picturesque canals throughout the city and you won’t have to search for a party. In Amsterdam, the party is everywhere. Expect to feel the love and be surrounded by partying people! For this event, Amsterdam is soaked in rainbow colours!
Amsterdam is one of these cities that everybody dreams about. You have to go there at least once in your life, just because it is that amazing!
Amsterdam Pride is a little different than the other LGBT events we already listed. That’s because Amsterdam features a Canal Pride on the hundreds of canals that run through the city centre.
CanalPride in Amsterdam is happening in August, but there’s more to see and do in Amsterdam during Pride Week!
Visit the Pride Park or walk during the Rainbow Walk. Or maybe you can attend one of the many street parties! Another nice extra in Amsterdam, is the open-air cinema where you can watch an LGBTQ+ movie together with thousands of people!
Dublin pride
Dublin LGBT Pride takes place in June each year. Starting off with an entire Pride week in June and ending with a huge LGBT Pride March. During Pride week, other events are organized, like a 5K Pride Run and various performances and speeches.
The Parade will start marching on one of the last days of the event. There will be music and parties going on until 2 o’clock the next morning.
As one of the largest yearly events in Dublin, the LGBT Pride event is bound to be successful. So if you want to walk together with tens of thousands of LGBT and their allies, Dublin is waiting for you to join the forces!
When: Summer pride in June and Winter event in November
Prague pride
Prague Pride was first organized in 2011 and it has done nothing but expand each year. This year promises to be even bigger and better. A few years ago, 92 thousand people visited Prague for this massive LGBTQ+ Festival and 40 thousand people marched in the Parade. Will you be one of them this year?
The capital of the Czech Republic is an awesome city trip destination. Why wouldn’t you arrange your travel dates accordingly? Now, Prague has an entire LGBT Rainbow Week planned out. The event starts in the beginning of August.
Rome
Each year, Rome organizes an LGBT+ Pride event in the ancient streets of this fabulous city. As Rome should be on every travel wish list ever, why not visit this interesting city during the Pride festival?
Rome Pride is one of the Great European LGBTQ+ events. Even though they haven’t published their complete calendar yet, there will be tons of events and activities you can attend in the capital of Italy during this years event!
Copenhagen pride
Copenhagen Pride usually happens in August. The Event Week program includes loads of free activities like concerts, workshops, parties, seminars, and other fun activities.
The actual LGBTQ+ Rainbow Parade happens on one of the last days. The parade starts marching at the Fredriksberg Town Hall and finished a few hours later at the Copenhagen City Hall Square, where the parties continues.
Good to know: In 2021, Copenhagen is the WordPride host. Expect this event to be a massive celebration!

About shanghai gay pride
Shanghai Gay Pride is an annual event that celebrates the city’s local LGBTQ community. First taking place in 2009, Shanghai Gay Pride has steadfastly developed into a lively celebration which generally runs for roughly 10 days. The very first Shanghai Pride was a significant moment, as it was the first mass LGBTQ event which took place on mainland China. As political demonstrations of any kind are banned in China, Shanghai Gay Pride doesn’t feature a parade, but instead includes a range of LGBTQ-related events, including workshops, cultural events, and a Pride Festival.
In 2009, Shanghai Pride was organized by various LGBTQ volunteers, with two American expat women at the helm, Tiffany Lemay and Hannah Miller. All promotion was conducted in English as a result, which in turn helped to reduce any governmental inteference in the event. While collaborations were initially minimal, the increased popularity and cemented status of Shanghai Pride have meant that more and more LGBTQ organizations now take part in the annual proceedings.
To compensate for the lack of an official Pride Parade, Shanghai Gay Pride includes various staples, including a Pride Film Festival, a pink brunch, a dance party, and of course the popular Pride Run and Rainbow Bike Ride. So if you like the idea of experiencing your pride in China’s most open and liberal city, get yourself to Shanghai Gay Pride, and enjoy doing things a little differently.
Program for shanghai gay pride
For 2019, Shanghai Pride will welcome a range of different queer-related cultural events. For almost all of June, the Shanghai Pride Film Festival will take place across various venues throughout the city. There will be an LGBTQ film marathon which will screen over 60 compelling queer-related films from more than 20 countries.
Pride Art will also be illuminating the city with a series of LGBTQ-focused exhibitions. The public is encouraged to submit works that showcase self-identity, diversity, and pride. So, expect an equally-packed LGBTQ calendar in China’s largest city for this year’s gay pride event in Shanghai.

About nyc pride
Gay Pride New York is right on up there as one of the biggest and best gay prides in the globe, after all it is the Big Apple we’re talking about. Taking place in the month of June, during the height of New York’s summer, NYC Pride illuminates the city with a range of LGBTQ-related parties, events, conferences, and of course one incredible and colorful parade.
The first NYC Pride Rally occurred one month after the Stonewall Riots in June 1969, that launched the modern Gay Rights Movement. In the morning of June 28, 1969, police raided the Stonewall Inn, a local gay bar in Greenwich Village that very much represented the city’s underground LGBTQ culture. Following these violent and discriminatory attacks, 500 people gathered for a “Gay Power” demonstration in Washington Square Park a month later. This was followed by a candlelight vigil in Sheridan Square. A year later in 1970, the very first NYC Pride March took place on June 28.
Gay Pride New York has continued this proud tradition by hosting the event in various locations throughout the city. The March passes by the site of the Stonewall Inn on Christopher Street, location of the June 1969 Stonewall riots. Today, the New York Pride parade rivals Sao Paulo Gay Pride Parade and Madrid Pride as the largest pride parade in the world, attracting each year in June hundreds of thousands of participants and millions of sidewalk spectators.
In 2019, New York celebrated a special pride, in the form of WorldPride NYC. The iconic event transpired for the entire month of June, and celebrated 50 years since the Stonewall Riots. Various festivities including PrideFest and Pride Island dazzled the city, with headline acts including Melissa Etheridge and Madonna.
Each year during Gay Pride New York, there are a series of parties and celebrations which take place throughout NYC, and continue right up until the concluding Pride Parade, which happens towards the end of June. While the main parade usually transpires in the heart of Manhatten, pride events often occur in other areas of the city too, including Brooklyn and Staten Island.
The aim of NYC Pride, as with every other pride, is to seek a future without discrimination. A future in which LGBTQ people can not only be recognized and accepted, but also one where they can enjoy the same rights as everyone else. Gay Pride New York aims to achieve this by curating a rich program of events that can inspire, commemorate, educate, and celebrate every shade of the pride rainbow. So will we be seeing you this year in the Big Apple for Gay Pride New York? Naturally!
Program for nyc pride
In 2021, NYC Pride Parade will be virtual, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Full details, including how to watch the live stream can be found here. The theme for NYC Pride 2021 is aptly, "The Fight Continues" which references not only the Covid-19 pandemic which shook the world, but also many national and local issues including police brutality, state anti-LGBTQ legislation, and economic hardship to name a few. The goal of NYC Pride 2021 is to recognize the power of solidarity and the overall strength and resilience of our community.
For the entire month of June, NYC Pride will be curated a series of online events including the iconic NYC Pride March which will take place on Sunday June 27 along with the Pride Rally which is scheduled for June 25, and will feature a diverse array of speakers and activists in a virtual format. Popular PrideFest and Pride Island will also return on June 27, however, specific details concerning how these will take place are yet to be determined, so stay tuned.
The following is the event program of a previous pride edition. New York Pride 2020 dates are June 14 to 28, and we couldn‘t be more excited! The Big Apple is exuberant at the best of times, and during Gay Pride New York things reach an all time high. After all, what’s not to love about a massive Pride Parade, and loads of other LGBTQ-related parties happening in the city that never sleeps?
The theme for Gay Pride NYC 2020 is "The Future Is…" which intends to connect the past, present, and future of the LGBTQ community. It seeks to connect the storied past, milestones, and exciting future for the community, and is inclusive of identity, race, age, religion, language and body types. "The Future Is…" hopes to recognise the diversity of the LGBTQ community, all the while acknowleding every individual’s unique and valued outlook for the future.
2020 will be special for Gay Pride New York as it will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the NYC Pride March on June 28. In keeping with tradition, the New York Pride Parade 2020 will kick off on Sunday, June 28 at 12pm. The location is still TBD, so stay tuned for details. While the sheer scale cannot be expected to be quite as big as that of WorldPride 2019, 2018 welcomed more than 100 floats, along with 550 marching contingents. So in keeping with NYC and its pride traditions, we can expect something big.
Along with the iconic Pride Parade, you can look forward to a jam-packed program for New York Gay Pride 2020. Those looking to celebrate their pride with a series of lively parties can do so at the popular Pride Island. The location, and line-up are all yet to be determined, so stay tuned for details, but we can tell you all the fun will be taking place over the weekend of June 26 to 28.
Love a good street party? So do we! If you want to experience your pride dancing along the city streets of the Big Apple, you need to get yourself to the iconic PrideFest, which will this year take place on Sunday June 28, from 11am to 6pm. This free and open-to-all street fair brings together exhibitors, entertainers, and activities for a fun-filled day that promotes equality. All the action will be taking place on 4th Avenue, between Union Square and Astor Place.
Those looking for something other than festivities and parties should look to the Human Rights Conference, which will take place on Thursday, June 25 at the New York Law School. Uniting a range of professions in the one space, including activists, journalists, educators, policy makers and more, this conference will be a unique experience to discuss pertinent human rights issues concerning the global LGBTQ community.

Winter party festival (miami, usa)
Winter Party Festival is an annual, week-long celebration of music and dance, produced to raise critical funds for the LGBT+ community. The event is hosted in Miami Beach each year in late February or early March. The Winter Party always designates a host hotel to act as the central gathering point for visitors to travel to the event, but you can stay at any hotel you wish in the area and attend just one or even all of the parties. The most famous and popular party is the beach festival, which is hosted on Sunday afternoon on the white sand of Miami Beach.
Back in 1994 the founders of Winter Party Festival decided to invite the LGBT+ community to a party on the sands of South Beach. Now 20+ years later that one night has turned into a six-day celebration that attracts people from all over the world. While many people might think the Winter Party Festival is just a series of parties, that’s not the whole picture.
