So we placed an ad XTRA (Toronto's gay newspaper) to terme tert gay swim and nng groups. The club also swam at the outdoor, unheated Riverdale Pool 1987 and 1988; at Jarvis Collegiate 1993 (nveniently loted the gay villiage, but we stopped swimmg here when the school board imposed hefty pool rental fe) and at Matty Eckler (formerly the Pape Pool) startg 1993. Durg the summer of 1994, we tried a fourth weekly practice at Try Rec July 2001, DSC hosted the 12th IGLA (Internatnal Gay and Lbian Aquatics) petns.

Through the Clubs, the Downtown Aquatics Corporatn has been very active promotg aquatic sports Toronto for the lbian, gay, bisexual and transgenr muni.

Downtown Swim Club held six swimathons between 1987 and 1992, to raise funds for Casey Hoe, Fife Hoe and Toronto Counsellg Centre for Lbian and Gays. Downtown Swim Club swimmers have peted at IGLA meets or the Gay Gam every year sce 1989.
