What ma the project so plited for you?</strong></p><p>I know I give a bad ri the book, but you n enjoy somethg while potg out s flaws. I was disappoted to see imagg thgs like tonomo LGBTQ+ muni or queer utopias, but was so foced on one particular body type and experience. Even wh that tegory of gay men, they were extremely narrow reprentatns — I don't have the body they were showg, I’m two feet smaller than any of those guys, and I don't even have one ab, like any of the guys the film. It’s somethg that bugs me about showg thgs queer nightlife spac, a problem we have wh the muny of clivy. Still, I loved that ia of poppers beg ed as a vehicle for STI preventn. It's always fun to image new for old products, and as an old product poppers has nstantly revented self over the past century and a half. I n see why the makers of <em>The Fathers Project</em> ran wh the ia that poppers uld be ed as a vehicle for STI-preventative substanc. For me, 's way more futuristic and ls ncrete, and there's a value dreamg big. And for me, that dream, the way that I end up dog that the book is jt thkg about as a kd of a posture, a way of movg through the world for as queer people. There’s this way of movg through the world beyond thgs like shame and stigma and vis and bacteria, and nostalgia as well. I’m askg rears to thk a b differently about how to move to the future — 's never about movg to a specific statn.</p><p><strong>How do poppers specifilly f to your visn of seekg utopia?</strong></p><p>After I set about wrg a book about poppers, I found myself thkg hard about what they do and what they mean, beyond the purely medil and sexual.
