Acrdg to Nietzsche, most philosophers are prejudiced agast the very ia of a gay science: ‘ “Where lghter and gaiety are found, thkg is good for nothg” – that is the prejudice of [a] ser beast agast all “gay science”.

The most direct way to prove that this is so is to produce somethg that is both lighthearted and unniably philosophil, and this is what Nietzsche sets out to do The Gay Science, which is th both about philosophil methodology and, one hop, an stance of a novel philosophil activy.
