4153 W. 26th St., which ss on the wt end of the street and may be the untry’s olst Lato drag bar.</p><p>La Cueva looks like any other bar om the outsi by day. But the club stag two shows a night Thursdays through Sundays where a crew of performers elaborate stum imate some of the most proment ins Spanish and Lato culture, like Juan Gabriel, Lupa D’Als and others. </p><p>There’s dancg, there’s mic, and most importantly, a voted crowd enjoyg their favore songs by today’s and yterday’s stars. I’m worried bee those people don’t know La Cueva. They’ve never been here; they only image what go on.”</p><p>But La Cueva has stood the tt of time — <a rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank" href=">cludg a prolonged, panmic-duced shutdown</a>, performers said. </p><p>Franc D’Als, who has been an entertaer for three s, said Ltle Village has changed for the better by beg more welg and vg of LGBTQ+ ctomers and club workers as the s have gone by. </p><p>“It’s more normal,” D’Als said. “It’s gotten a lot better bee more people e [to the club]. They see there isn’t so much crime outsi and there aren’t many problems. So people have more nfince and they e si. La Cueva … isn’t what people ed to thk, that was some seedy place. They’ve met dience members who have e om Texas or California, all who are eager to vis La Cueva.</p><p>“I swear to you, ’s even famo Mexi,” he said. </p><p>Spac like La Cueva are so important bee they offer a healthy outlet of fun for everyone, Galdo said. People n be whoever they want to be: “The flower out,” she says. </p><p>D’Als said there are those who have prenceived ia of what La Cueva, or other gay bars, might be like, but she enurag people to e see for themselv and make up their own mds.</p><p>“La Cueva is different than what people may thk,” she said. “We’re vg them to e and disver for themselv what really go on La Cueva.
