FORT GAY WV (9/14/2009) – Fort Gay rints may have been exposed to drkg water that ntaed untreated sewage, acrdg to a feral lawsu filed July 28. The Uned Stat of Ameri and the State of Wt Virgia, through the Department of Environmental Protectn and the Department of Health and Human Rourc, filed the lawsu agast the town of Fort Gay over allegatns that untreated sewage and potential ntamants were dumped to a tributary upstream of an take for drkg water. Contamants and raw sewage n be dumped to the river when one of Fort Gay’s ne pump statns fails, g untreated sewage to overflow om the pump statn and discharge to the ground, acrdg to the plat.

At four of the town’s ne pump statns, that raw sewage is likely to flow to Mill Creek and om there to the Tug Fork, which li upstream om Fort Gay Water Works, the su stat.
