The Natnal Lbian and Gay Communy Fundg Partnership (the Partnership) was lnched 1993 as a partnership between the Workg Group on Fundg Lbian and Gay Issu (which later beme Funrs for LGBTQ Issu) and a small group of natnal foundatns, amidst a historil backdrop which LGBTQ ncerns and muni had been addrsed by very few philanthropic stutns. Communy foundatns that participated the Natnal Lbian and Gay Communy Fundg Partnership ntue to fund LGBTQ issu through donor advised programs and general fund grants wh several matag specific lbian and gay endowments.

The Natnal Lbian and Gay Communy Fundg Partnership set out to achieve the followg objectiv:.

Increase awarens and unrstandg of lbian, gay, bisexual and transgenr people and issu wh the philanthropic muny and the muny-at-large;. Enurage social service agenci to velop programs and servic that rpond to the needs of lbian, gay, bisexual and transgenr people;. Cultivate muny foundatns as a rource for lbian, gay, bisexual and transgenr people cludg donors; and,.

Manchter Lbian & Gay Swchboard Servic (MLGSS) began life 45 years ago, on 2 January 1975. Followg the crimalisatn of homosexualy 1967, six gay men me together a back bedroom to provi an rmatn and support service for the growg number of men startg to e out. In 1994, our current Chief Executive Pl Mart OBE beme one of the founr members of Healthy Gay Manchter, havg arrived Manchter 1989.

The chary was formed rponse to the HIV epimic and was dited to improvg sexual health amongst gay and bi men. The Pl Collective – formerly known as the Charlotte Lbian and Gay Fund – is a givg program that awards grants to nonprofs supportg the lbian, gay, bisexual, transgenr and queer muny the Charlotte regn, as well as partners wh muny alli.
