GAY VILLAGE

The fashn pal is often also referred to as the untry’s ‘Gay Capal’, and has probably the largt LGBTQ scene Italy as well as the most open. Rome’s ‘Gay Street’, Via San Gvanni Laterano, is an LGBTQ-iendly neighborhood near the Colossm. The Gay Village ftival is held Par l Nfeo and some of the nearby neighborhoods.

The bars on Gay Street have a relaxed, welg atmosphere and are popular wh lols and tourists alike.

Wh the bars on Gay Street generally havg a more chill vibe, you’ll want to head a ltle further outsi of the cy center if you’re lookg for more of a club atmosphere. Near Gay Street, you n fd a few LGBTQ snas. Shatulle is one of the few LGBTQ bars loted Taorma’s cy center; the terr r is centred around a seri of homoerotic patgs.

Village is not for gay people only even if majory of guts are gay, of urse. The gural Gay Pri Rome first took place June, 1994, and while the velopment has been a relatively slow procs, Pri and the general LGBTQ scene the cy is ntug to go om strength to strength.

The very first WorldPri took place Rome 2000, wh a week-long ftival that attracted a host of gay activists om roughly 40 untri.

The imprsive event weled headle act, Lady Gaga, and attracted a large number of people, cementg Rome Pri as noteworthy staple Europe's Gay Pri lendar.

Followg the para each year, many of the cy's gay bars and clubs host special events and parti to keep the celebratns gog well to the night. So will we be seeg you at Gay Pri Rome this year?
