Loted at 300 Broadway Ltle Rock (Pulaski County), the Gay Oil Company Buildg is an example of an early twentieth-century Neoclassil-style office buildg. Constcted 1925 and verg three lots, the buildg served as the headquarters for the Gay Oil Company.
Thomas Jefferson Gay anized the Richardson-Gay Oil Company Texas 1903. Foced on refg oil, Gay sold his holdgs the bs 1905 and moved to Ltle Rock, where he found the Gay Oil Company 1907.
Gay signed the buildg to serve as both the headquarters of the pany and as a gas statn. By 1926, the Gay Oil Company operated ne gas statns Ltle Rock and North Ltle Rock, cludg the one loted at the headquarters. Gay also owned a warehoe on East 9th Street.
