Mount Gay 1703 Master Select Rum Review. When I heard Mount Gay was reformulatg and relnchg their flagship 1703 marque, I was worried. You see, Mount Gay 1703 was the first long aged, unadulterated m that really grabbed me.
Master Blenr Allen Smh managed to get 1703 to tick the smooth and sweet box whout cuttg rners or givg up on Mount Gay’s roots, and I was very imprsed (as the review reveals). Now 2017, Mount Gay has released a new versn of this luxury marque, and wh a different blend and package. Sample om Mount Gay, so let’s pour a dram and see what ’s like.
Movg for a nosg, the Mount Gay signature banana note jumps out of the glass, which quickly morphs to a bananas Foster.

Review: Mount Gay 1703 Master Select 90. The Mount Gay 1703 Master Select Rum is a premium m blend which featur aged pot and lumn still m stocks om well aged barrels wh the Mount Gay treasured rerve.
The barrels have an age range of 10 to 30 years and feature the some of the olst ms that Mount Gay has to offer the areas of Craftsmanship and Qualy. Apparently Mount Gay Master Distiller, Allen Smh personally selected the 55 barrels ed wh the Master Select blend. My sample of Mount Gay 1703 Master Select was a 100 ml media sample; but the PR agency rponsible for the brand sent me a nice selectn of bottle shots as well.
There is also a map of Barbados embossed to the glass nter wh a star showg the lotn of the Mount Gay Distillery. Seven years ago I reviewed the Mount Gay 1703 Old Cask Selectn.

That m was very siar make-up to the 1703 Master Select also nsistg of selected ms om Mount Gays Rerv which were aged between 10 and 30 years. Any spir blend om such a limed selectn of barrels is bound to have batch variatn; however, is also te that the Mount Gay style has been growg on me over the years. In the se of this particular Mount Gay Rum, I fd that the Pot Still Rum wh the blend has given the m a strong plex character which is very engagg.
