But how then was the name Mount Gay rived? Well, at the time Mount Gilboa plantatn was managed by Sir John Gay Alleyne; a proment Barbadian polician. After his passg, regnn of his mendable work the tate was partially renamed his honour; As such, was at that time that The Mount Gilboa Plantatn changed to The Mount Gay Plantatn - rived om the e of his middle name; as another plantatn already existed at the time unr the name “Mount Alleyne”.
