A pre-rock whe vol tr, the Gaylords had a seri of hs om 1952 to 1954 wh novelty flavored material and Italian-rived love songs. After a uple more hs, Fredianelli was drafted to the Army, changed his name to Ronnie Gaylord, and began rerd for Mercury as a solo volist. The Gaylords cid to keep gog, recg Billy Christ as Ronnie's replacement.
"From the We Came the Grape, " "Isle of Capri, " and "The Ltle Shoemaker" were all big hs for the Gaylords over the next uple of years. Ronnie Gaylord had a big h of his own wh "Cuddle Me, " and got on the rock & roll ver game wh a versn of Fats Domo's "A't That a Shame. " The rock & roll revolutn, however, ma groups such as the Gaylords passe, although they ntued to rerd for Mercury to the '60s.
