The Gay Gam are open to all who wh to participate, and feature lbian, gay, bisexual, and transgenr (LGBT) athlet, artists and more. Found the Uned Stat the 1980s, the Gay Gam have been held Europe three tim - Amsterdam 1998, Cologne 2010 and Paris 2018. The first Gay Gam took place San Francis 1982.
The Gam, as envisned by Olympian Tom Wadll, were origally tend to be lled The Gay Olympics. However, the Internatnal Olympic Commtee sued the anisatn over the e of the word 'Olympics' and - jt 19 days before the petn was due to beg - the name was changed to the 'Gay Gam'.
The fifth Gay Gam took place Amsterdam - the first Europe - Augt 1998, wh the openg and closg ceremoni at the Amsterdam Arena (now lled the Johan Cyff Arena). His gay and lbian iends San Francis, though, had never experienced an event as thrillg or movg as the openg ceremony. And so Wadll created the Gay Gam – then lled the Gay Olympics, until the Internatnal Olympic Commtee sued over the name.
