The GaYbor District Coaln began, unofficially, when longtime partners Carrie Wt and Mark Bias moved their gay-themed gift shop MC Film (1901 North 15th Street) om St. At the time, there were about five gay bs operatg near the wt end of Seventh Avenue, the ma mercial drag, and more on the way. Wt and Bias created lorful ltle maps, lotg gay and gay-iendly bs for visors.

As the GaYbor District began gag more regnn among cy officials and the Ybor Cy Chamber of Commerce, GaYbor members furthered their fluence. Now, there are a number of Tampa gay bars, rtrants and hotels, cludg dozens marketed directly to gay visors. There are very few tablishments on 7th avenue that are not members of GayBor.
The Hampton Inn & Su and Hilton Garn Inn both offer disunts to bs the neighborhood, and the lser-known Ybor Rort and Spa boutique hotel is the Tampa Bay area’s only gay bathhoe. Like the rt of Ybor Cy, GaYbor is livelit at night, when the bars and rtrants fill up and the dance mic pumps through the streets, often for chary events. Bradley’s on 7th (1510 East Seventh Avenue) has more of a sports bar vibe durg the day but be more flamboyant at night, when gay DJs arrive and create a dance party.
