The show’s creators, Amy Lyle and Bart Nickerson, are really, really good at wieldg this brand of emotnal nostalgia, and as a rult, the way we talk about <em>Yellowjackets</em> is ultimately, for me, a lightful regrsn back to my high-school self. It’s a simple formula: mix one part horror / spense wh gnarly gore, a sprklg of dark jok, and one part drama wh a particularly allurg flavor of retrospectn that sucks the viewer like a force of nature. At the same time, don’t take self too serly, which is s savg grace. The fact that was ially sold as a five-season show is a ltle ncerng; this isn’t the sort of story that benefs om beg drawn out too long.
