Homosexualy and safe sex are tegral topics for the healthy sexual velopment of YMSM. Of the teachers who addrs homosexualy as part of their sexual tn curricula, the topics most monly addrsed are fg homosexualy, tolerance and prejudice, health issu and myths about homosexualy (Telljohann et al., 1995).
However, the same study, LGB youth who received gay-sensive HIV curricula and materials were ls likely to engage sexual risk addn to schools, another mon source of sexual tn is parents and other fay members. The lack of gay-related topics sexual curricula at schools and at home may lead some YMSM to seek out relevant sexual tn om the sourc. Among YMSM, Mutchler (2005) found that YMSM learned ltle om schools and fay, and mostly om pornography—both straight and gay—over the Inter.
Young men were eligible to participate the study if they were: a) 18- to 24-years old; b) self-intified as gay, bisexual, or uncerta of their sexual orientatn and/or reported havg had sex wh a man; c) self-intified as Csian, Ain Amerin, or Lato of Mexin scent; and d) a rint of Los Angel County, and they anticipated livg Los Angel for at least six months.
