I'm not a big fan of grty realism, but this movie was extremely telligent and sensetive s handlg of potentially ugly people and a potentially vulgar, trashy scenar/storyle: that alone sets apart om about nety percent of the "gay" cema that I have seen.
Ed Corb - jaw tightly clenched throughout - plays a 30-somethg p vtigatg dg alg at a gay htler bar, and falls for a young male llege stunt his early 20's who htl on the si. I enjoyed the fact that the gay theme wasn't over powerg.
)As much as I enjoy gay-themed movi, this film is a ttament that producers shouldn't be too loose wh their funds.

After havg watched a LOT of "gay cema" lately and fdg most of downright dreadful this film was a wele breath of h air.
Is better than most of other stuff beg passed off as gay themed movi lately? And IN THE FLESH is so lame so many different directns that tryg to give a legimate review is major uphill story has been done a thoand tim, but here is given a gay-appeal twist. Unrver p and closeted homosexual Philip (Ed Corb) is workg a possible dg rg operatg out of a gay bar.
His script is amazgly awful and his ia of directn is to hold the mera on his actors jt long enough for them to look only people who might fd this movie appealg are those who have never before seen a gay-themed film of any kd. If you're one of them, tst me: there are many, many gay-themed films that are much, much better than this one. Straight playg Gay?
