In 1975, the Gay Communy Service Center was found, and sponsored the first Gay Freedom Day on June 1 Cy Creek Canyon. In the 1980s, Pri celebratns, then lled Gay Pri Day, occurred var parks, cludg Fairmont Park, Pneer Park, and Sunnysi Park. Pri Day Art Expo and Competn, the Lbian and Gay Pri Art Award, and the Mapplethorpe Award were troduced to promote lol queer artists' visibily.
