This is why gay and lbian-iendly venu are so important - they are a place where people n feel fortable wh their sexualy whout worryg about the problems that affect them other parts of society.

"A [gay iendly] venue provis a sense of belongg, faiary and safety, " Emma says. "There have been many mpaigns that look at anxiety and prsn as beg major issu of ncern for the [gay and lbian] muny and their relatnship between social isolatn and prsn. Until recently, Wollongong had one gay-orientated venue lled Indtry, formerly Castros.
"The LGBTIQ [lbian, gay, bisexual, transgenr, tersex and queer] muny is only one aspect of the muny was targetg, " Emma says. This means that even unr another brand, the venue on Victoria Street will still not be a dited gay-orientated club. Emma says there is a place for that style of entertament, but 's important to ask the gay and lbian muny what they're lookg for a venue.
