June is Pri Month, an entire month dited to regnizg the ntributns that LGBTQ (lbian, gay, bisexual, transgenr, and queer and/or qutng) dividuals have ma to their muny and society. Pri Month origated to honor the Stonewall Rts of 1969, when LGBTQ patrons of Manhattan’s Stonewall Inn fought back agast police who lnched one of s many discrimatory raids on the gay bar.
Sce 1970, gay pri marchers have flood the streets of New York Cy every June to monstrate their pri and advote for ntued progrs for the margalized group’s rights.
