This historic transactn was ma possible by genero donatns om gay men across the untry and Canada, some of whom have been gatherg on this land for s, some of whom ma their way there for the first time this summer. As we approach the fiftieth anniversary of Stonewall 2019, this purchase tak on add signifince, remdg that Rock River is a natnal gay landmark that provid (and ntu to provi) a safe haven for gay men challengg tim. The Newfane area of Southern Vermont is Home to the Gay Beach and Nu Swimmg Hole on the Rock River.
The further upstream you go the more likely you are to see nu bathers; the next uple of beach up the trail are mixed, gay and straight, and nu. As you ntue further up the Rock River be creasgly gay until you reach your fal statn (about a 30-mute hike om the road) and disver the “official” gay area.
