Found 2004 a group of men felt the muny lacked a gay gby team. As a sport, gby was not wildly known the southern stat, however, the fledglg members saw an embrace om the gay muny.
We seek to breakdown perceptns of masculy wh the LGBTQ+ and straight muni by monstratg strength, termatn, and athleticism of a gay gby team. On the last weekend of May, Charlotte was given the privilege of hostg the first-ever Internatnal Gay Rugby Tournament. Even as the nstant ra ma the fields a ltle more challengg to play on both days, nothg was allowed to upstage the weekend prised of both petn and uny between everyone their webse, The Internatnal Gay Rugby (IGR) Organizatn was formed October 2000 by a small group of clive gby clubs wh the missn of providg the LGBTQIA+ muny safe spac to play as the sport’s populary grew.
After multiple blasts to clubs and groups all around the spectm (women’s, men’s, gay, straight), along wh the teams attendg, and I wound up wh almost 60 people that were terted.
