They only owned around 350 z, but they were layg out the foundatn of what would bee Milwkee, Wisns’s <a data-offer-url=" class="external-lk" data-event-click="{"element":"ExternalLk","outgogURL":"" href=" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Queer Ze Archive Project</a> (QZAP), one of the largt exclively queer ze archiv the world.</p><div><div class="ConsumerMarketgUnThemedWrapper-iUTMTf jssHut nsumer-marketg-un nsumer-marketg-un--article-mid-ntent" role="prentatn" aria-hidn="te"><div class="nsumer-marketg-un__slot nsumer-marketg-un__slot--article-mid-ntent nsumer-marketg-un__slot---ntent"></div><div class="journey-un"></div></div></div><p>“Chris and I met 2001 when we were livg the Bay Area,” Miller tells <em>them</em>. “We were both -anizers for Queeptn, which was an ongog seri of weeklong gathergs for folks who were sort of polilly radil anarchist punks, sex-posive and all that. Around that time, my hog suatn was fallg apart and I moved to Milwkee not long after 9/11 to live wh my fay, to figure out what I was gog to do next.”</p><div class="Contaer-bkChBi byNLHx"></div><p>Wil and Miller had stayed touch, and the followg year Wil moved to Milwkee. That’s when the seeds of the Queer Ze Archive Project — those 350 z — were planted, and the -founrs transformed a rner of their dg room to the headquarters. It wasn’t long before Miller and Wil had amassed several file bets worth of z, and they moved their growg llectn to an empty apartment un downstairs.</p><div class="AdWrapper-dQtivb fZrssQ ad ad---ntent"><div class="ad__slot ad__slot---ntent" data-no-id="5c1f18"></div></div><p>Today, QZAP holds upwards of 2,500 ems, cludg non-ze ephemera such as 90s <a data-offer-url=" class="external-lk" data-event-click="{"element":"ExternalLk","outgogURL":"" href=" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><em class="unrle">queerre show flyers</em></a> and pamphlets announcg ralli that once circulated ACT UP chapters around the untry. About a quarter of the llectn is <a data-offer-url=" class="external-lk" data-event-click="{"element":"ExternalLk","outgogURL":"" href=" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><em class="unrle">available onle</em></a>, updated and taloged IRL by a close-kn team of volunteers, terns, stunts om nearby universi, and zters--rince, givg Midwterners and folks on the asts the opportuny to dive to some rarely seen queer history.</p><asi aria-hidn="te" class="PullQuoteEmbedWrapper-sc-EoVjf fQbAzo"><div class="PullQuoteDerativeBorr-sc-iUyOLj fAzNVP"></div><div class="PullQuoteEmbedContent-sc-kTcfhx eoUd"><p>“We’re not the kd of archive you’d see at a universy.
