THE GAY-FRIENDLY CI HAVE LOTS TO OFFER LGBTQ BUYERS—INCLUDG AFFORDABLE HOM
Covenant Hoe is mted to all our lotns beg welg, affirmg, and safe for young gay homels people who intify as LGBTQ+ * home for gay young *
While the challeng of intifyg and ntactg youth experiencg homelsns make difficult to tablish the exact prevalence of LGBTQ youth homelsns, is timated that lbian, gay, and bisexual (LGB) youth make up 7-9% of the general populatn (Wilson, Cooper, Kastanis, & Nezhad, 2014) but 29% of youth experiencg homelsns (Choi et al., 2015). 1 It is important to note that due to a failure to llect nuanced sexual orientatn and genr inty data many large-sle surveys, much of the prev rearch on LGBTQ youth actually only vers those who are lbian, gay, or bisexual. In this report, fdgs that only apply to lbian, gay, or bisexual youth will be noted wh the acronym LGB and fdgs which apply to lbian, gay, bisexual, transgenr, queer, or qutng youth will be noted wh acronym LGBTQ.
However, rearch om the Fay Acceptance Project shows that many parents reject their child’s LGBTQ inty bee they fear the homophobia and transphobia their child may experience society (Substance Abe and Mental Health Servic Admistratn, 2014). Unlike other eply entrenched social problems such as racism, homophobia, biphobia, or transphobia, homelsns has a ncrete, evince-based solutn: hog. The Trevor Project is the world’s largt suici preventn and crisis terventn anizatn for lbian, gay, bisexual, transgenr, queer, & qutng (LGBTQ) young people.
