As high school crept to my sophomore and junr years jt a few years ago, I had started realizg I was different. I pletely unrtimated how hard would be to say those two words: “I’m gay. "Not that 's a big al or anythg, but I'm gay.
Like most mothers of gay teens, she said that she had known for years and was wag for me to tell her.

I cid I would be upont and say y if anybody asked if I'm gay, but that was only if they were to ask. Early on durg my first semter at Limtone I was hangg out wh a few iends om band when I was asked if I was gay. So, I jt me straight out and told them that I was gay.
I'd read g out stori of black men gettg pletely shunned by their fellow black iends bee they were gay. I didn't want beg gay to pletely cut me off om the people that I spent most of my day wh. Halfway through my sophomore year at Limtone College I got very unhappy.
