The lowt level has a number of bars - some lled gay bars - and gay clubs. Apparently was Fetish Week when we vised and this area is part of the gay quarter- I don’t have a problem wh that but ’s not a place for fai wh kids at eveng time if you want to avoid awkward qutns like - why are those men wearg leather shorts wh no back them?

We'd heard that the Yumbo Centre was extremely gay and uld possibly we vised, y is very gay, maly male upl wh some female upl and beme apparent that would seem that an extremely large amount of gay people would e this place as somewhere they uld be themselv whout people starg as they seemed to flnt . One night, my wife and I were eatg outsi on a terrace and there were approximately 15 tabl wh two chairs for each, at least 10 of the tabl were taken up by gay men which giv an ia how popular is wh gay men.

Gay bars are abundance and as long as you are aware then this should not be an issue, certaly wasn't for , fact was que amg and entertag wh all of the mpns. It is loted on the send floor of the Yumbo Centm, landmark of the gay area of Playa l Inglés (Maspalomas). Overall - the problem wh the yumbo and the average Brish gay tourist is we have too good the UK - amazg clubs, bars, shows ect we jt don't have the weather - whereas gran naria has the weather but that's , as a first timer I found the yumbo to fall short of s reputatn, dire need of velopment -possibly some big name bars and clubs om worldwi, and like the rt of Playa/Maspalomas s cheap and nasty and over priced!!!

On the ground floor there are rtrants of different natnali and if you go round the left and the back there are many gay bars (those wh rabow flag). In general food is good but don’t expect hte cuise the fourth floor right at the back there are more gay bars and a sna.

There are a large number of bars, many of which are gay, and range om 'show tun' to much more adventuro tablishments, shall I say, as well as diss and baret bars ually volvg drag acts. Although the place has A LOT of gay bars, rt assured that there are also bars for straight people.

But as a Gran Canarian tourist for 20 years now, the Yumbo still hasn’t lost the gay charm that had on our first vis 2002! For sure the bars are firmly tered to the gay market but that has never been hidn away om.

The entire area is a gay mec and long may that ntue.
