” It was placed there this month to memorate BU’s role the cy’s gay rights movement: the GSU was the meetg spot of the first anized gay stunt group the area, the Boston Universy Stunt Homophile League, which began durg the 1969–1970 school year. At the time, homosexualy was a crimal offence and the gay muny saw the bar—and others like —as their safe haven. Patrons rted for several days followg the raid, advotg for the rights of lbian, gay, bisexual, and transgenr people.
