The first event remblg the morn San Francis Pri para and celebratn was held 1970 - wh a march down Polk Street and a small "gay-" Goln Gate Park. Today, San Francis Gay Pri is anized by the San Francis Lbian, Gay Bisexual, Transgenr Pri Celebratn, which enavors to te the world, memorate LGBTQ history, celebrate culture, and liberate people.
The para nsists of hundreds of groups om var anizatns cludg some well-known like Dyk on Bik and Parents, Fai, and Friends of Lbians and Gays (PFLAG). Celebratns for San Francis Gay Pri ually beg on the Saturday at the cy’s Civic Center Plaza.
The highlight of SF Pri is arguably the San Francis Gay Pri Para, which will take place on Sunday morng, June 30, at 10:30am.

San Francis Gay Pri featur over 20 muny-n spac cludg mic stag, muny events, a LGBT fay garn, a Queer Youth space and a Women’s stage. The San Francis Lbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgenr Pri Para and Celebratn (“San Francis Pri”) turns 50 years old this year. The imag featured here are om the 1974 para, then lled the Gay Freedom Day Para.

The spontaneo Stonewall Uprisg occurred there rponse to a police raid at the Stonewall Inn, a gay bar Greenwich Village on June 28, 1969. In San Francis, 30 gays and lbians marched down Polk Street on Saturday, June 27, 1970.
The followg day, hundreds of people held a “gay-” at Speedway Meadow Goln Gate Park. There was no event June 1971, but the Age of Aquari Para on Folsom Street Augt 1971 featured some gay marchers and floats.
