Though a sger whose mil roots were eply embedd gospel mic, his personal tast Gaye gravated towards jazz and, for a long time, harbored aspiratns to be the Ain-Amerin Frank Satra. Inially, Motown’s boss, Berry Gordy, dulged Gaye’s ambn to be a middle-of-the-road entertaer, as long as he cut some h R&B sis the procs.
