It started out as a sgle day the Magic Kgdom has grown to one of the largt gay and lbian events to clu a bs expo, parti, theme park and attractn events and much more. Gay Days tak place the first weekend June Orlando Florida. Gay Days will feature The Gay Days Expo, ncerts, edy events and parti. Gay Days at Walt Disney World began 1991 as a sgle signated day (the first Saturday June) when the LGBTQ+ muny and iends were enuraged to “Wear Red and Be Seen” (aka #RedShirtDay) while visg the world’s most popular theme park. The Gay Days Orlando’s Celebratn has sce grown exponentially and is now a vatn experience that occurs over 7 days durg the first week of June (the dat are supposed to change to Augt 2019 but that’s s own story).

The week long affair is prised of multiple events staged at world famo attractns, gay & lbian nightclubs, and unique venu secured for the purpose of creatg an clive LGBTQ+ atmosphere. Commted to diversy and cln, Gay Days wel young, old, all rac and beliefs, parents, AA groups, straight alli and every other sectn of the muny (thank-you, Gay Days webse).
So once we moved to Orlando, we’ve ma our bs to go to WDW durg Gay Days as often as we n, to support our iends, to jt have a good time and, I adm , to see all the really funny shirts that people wear. Over the past 15 years or so, we’ve seen some chang when we’ve gone to Gay DayS:.
Gay Days at WDW has never been an event officially sanctned by Disney; they were jt another large group of people who cid to go to WDW at the same time, the same as, for example, nventn goers or church groups. But Disney has almost always been progrsive, open and gay-iendly over the s (as well as always willg to squeeze an extra few dollars out of each gut), and the past 10 years or so, has released more and more merchandise the sprg that uld be the perfect purchase by those lookg for rabows ?.
