Canal Street ns along the Rochdale Canal wh a range of bars and rtrants and although hugely signifint there are other areas the village cludg Bloom Street, Richmond Street and Sackville Garns where there is a monument to Alan Turg who was a founr of morn putg who was treated humanely for beg gay. I have been visg the gay village sce late 1980’s and has always been a great place to vis, is pecially nice the summer months.

Maybe not so much GAY, haha. This is the ma reason why the cy’s heart beats om the Gay Village. Suated jt off Portland Street, the space is home to everythg gay, lbian, bisexual and trans.

There’s never a bad time to vis the Gay Village. The Gay Village was built rponse to the LGBT stggle - and to this day there is a prevalent muny spir.
