As a filmmaker and distributor, I was at many gay and lbian ftivals, and I mt say that young, let alone heterosexual dienc do not ually go on gay and lbian films. MEZIPATRA Queer Film Ftival (MEZIPATRA QFF) is a specialised petive film ftival focg on gay, lbian, bisexual, trans and queer themed films.

QFF MEZIPATRA is a succsor to the gay and lbian film ftival "Rabow Above Brno", which took place 2000 and 2001. When we cid to anise the first Czech gay and lbian film ftival the Moravian metropolis twelve years ago, we did not assume that would have bee the biggt queer event the Czech Republic few years. It succeed to provi the most prrised value of all the enlightenment, openns and balance; Var people meet one space, so there is no room left for a one-sid discsn a kd of a homoghetto.
The first thematic year, held 2004, was alg wh gay and lbian parenthood, 2006 the ma theme was Puberty and a year after that, when the civil partnership law me force, was Rebellns and Rav. The reason for this me wh a realisatn that the lol muny had, for years, been assertg the image of lbians and gays as rpectable cizens who live the same way as the mastream society and sire the same rights and stutns. Mezipatra entered the new wh a change the attribute – om gay and lbian ftival to a queer film ftival.
