Out Film CT is a nonprof cultural anizatn dited to prentg outstandg LGBTQ (lbian, gay, bisexual, transgenr, queer) cema throughout the year, culmatg the ne-day Connecticut LGBTQ Film Ftival. In addn to Gay, Lbian, Trans/Non-Bary, Youth, and Internatnal shorts, there will be all-new programs of Drag/Cross-Drsg, Bisexual, Queer People of Color, and Documentary shorts. AlteRnaTiveS (as was origally known) was found 1987 by Bill Mann as a gay and lbian cultural anizatn Hartford, agast a backdrop of LGBT social activism, spired part by the ath of Richard Reihl and the trial of his killers.
Wh Terri Reid as -chair, the anizatn explored a variety of different activi cludg theater, film, a gay history project and a lerary journal, Invert, which produced four issu. This was, after all, Connecticut’s first-ever Film Ftival, and at the time, a gay & lbian event such as this was que unual.
