The rt of the relevant tracks rly feel like ad-lib retreads of the same thgs gaye said on the aforementned song. ” the moments where gaye attempts to surpass this funk and branch out to a different topic (namely ‘a funky space rernatn’) both fall flat their own right and kneep the rerd’s overarchg ncept.

Needls to say, stg Here, My Dear as Gaye's woe-is-me divorce album is sellg the realy of the suatn short. The send half prov fertile ground for Gaye's experimental nature. By the time the album wds down wh the theoretilly optimistic "Fallg In Love Aga" (about Gaye's relatnship wh Janis) and a brief, hntg reprise of "When Did You Stop Lovg Me" (worth notg: Marv and Janis Gaye separated ls than a year after the release of Here, My Dear), 's clear that this album is ls a document of a divorce than is a thartic exposn of one man's credibly unhealthy approach to relatnships.
