This ensemble embodi the visn of the origal Chigo Gay Pri Band, which formed 1979 as one of the first LGBTQ bands of s kd. Ci and overseas wh the Pri Bands Alliance (formerly Lbian and Gay Band Associatn).
The clu the Gay Gam, the Greenwich Village Halloween Para New York Cy, and the Inguratn of Print Barack Obama. Laki Pri Mic Ensembl, is the umbrella group for a succsn of stmental ensembl that began 1979 wh the Chigo Gay Pri Band.
Though the anizatn has had several nam, startg wh the Chigo Gay Pri Band 1979, s missn to brg iends and members of the LGBT muni together through the celebratn of mic has remaed nstant. The origal Chigo Gay Pri Band grew out of a sire to have a marchg band the Pri paras and was one of the first gay marchg bands the world. It troduced the Wdy Cy Gay Chos 1979 and the Artemis Sgers the followg year.

Out of the seven pennt bands that me to the nference, the Lbian and Gay Bands of Ameri was formed. The natnal group later beme the Lbian and Gay Band Associatn (LGBA).

The Gay Pri Marchg Band performed the 10th annual Para on June 24, 1979. (WCCPA) which was an umbrella anizatn for the Gay Pri Band and 'a new chos beg formed. It will be a very meangful way for those participatg to relate to each other and to exprs their mment and pri Chigo's gay muny.
The first performance of the Wdy Cy Gay Chos (WCGC) was at Stag (formerly the Dis Center Stage and now Metro) on Dec. They performed wh the Chigo Gay Pri Band (CGPB).

On July 20, 1982, the CGPB, now lled the Chigo Gay/Lbian Communy Band, voted to end s relatnship wh the TTPA. In the Sprg of 1984, a group of micians announce that they are formg a new gay band the wake of the recent spl wh the Chigo Gay/Lbian Communy Band. In January, 1983, the Chigo Gay Men's Chos (CGMC), Chigo's send gay chos, started wh about 50 members, a number of whom had left the WCGC, cg 'artistic differenc.
The first was wh the New York Gay Men's Chos at New York's Avery Fisher Hall, Lln Center Febary 1982. In May 1984, both Chigo gay men's chos were given honors.
