The trailer for the dark take on the inic ic has already racked up <a data-offer-url=" class="external-lk" data-event-click="{"element":"ExternalLk","outgogURL":"" href=" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">over a ln views on Facebook</a>, but viewers aren’t the only on who are lookg forward to the first episo. <a href=">Cole Sproe</a>, who portrays Jughead Jon, is jt as psyched as his fans.</p><p><em>Riverdale</em>'s new Jughead, however, is markedly different om the beloved oddball Archie lls his bt iend the ic books. And he’s more than jt one of the ma characters the seri – he also serv as the show’s narrator. In fact, his voice is the very first one that we will hear as the pilot opens on a bird’s eye view of the quat everytown of Riverdale. I also thk he has a really strong moral fiber and a propensy for good, and he tri to cultivate that other people. I thk that's gog to e across, even wh his narratn.”</p><div class="Contaer-bkChBi byNLHx"></div><p>One of the most relatable aspects of Jughead’s story has to do wh how he teracts wh others. Jughead and Archie’s iendship remas one of the nstant threads of the seri; however, as Cole explas, their iendship is much rawer than picted the ics. “Unlike the ics, which are two-dimensnal both visual and emotnal plexy, this is a iendship that says, ‘Look I have the abily to tell you you're dog wrong or that you're beg a nasty person and that's my duty as a iend to you,’” Cole says. “That way, the relatnship between Archie and Jughead is much more realistic, bee we have the pacy to fight and be at odds. One of the biggt speculatns anticipatn of the seri has to do wh Jughead’s sexualy. In one of the newer <em>Archie</em> ics, is revealed that Jughead is asexual – which means that <a href=">he don’t experience sexual attractn</a>. Fans of the ics have been wonrg if <a href=">that aspect of the character’s inty</a> would rry over to <em>Riverdale</em> as well.</p><p>Cole tells <em>Teen Vogue</em> that he “did a lot of rearch” on asexualy as soon as he got the role, but not that season 1 of <em>Riverdale</em> ultimately will not explicly be the story of Jughead’s asexualy. However, Cole explas that the first season will nta a lot of character velopment, and will feel more like an “orig story” of the town and s habants. darker than the ics. “When you ask yourself if you're a te fan of the <em>Archie</em> ics, you'll fd what you still love fundamentally about the characters the show, but 's jt a new stage,” he says. “It's like a ltle theater troupe that ends up fdg themselv brand new suatns and havg to al wh those suatns – but wh the same philosophi and world views that you loved about those characters om their
