In Greece, where acceptance of homosexualy is not as prevalent as most of the EU untri surveyed, majori of 18-29 year-olds (66%) and 30-49 year-olds (62%) say homosexualy should be accepted by society; far fewer Greeks ag 50 and olr (40%) share this view. S., Canada, Argenta, Bolivia and Chile are also ls likely than those the two younger age groups to say homosexualy should be accepted by society, although at least half of those 50 and olr all but Bolivia are acceptg, cludg 75% Canada.
Mexins and Che ag 18-29 are more likely than those each of the other two age groups to offer posive views of homosexualy, but there is no signifint difference between the views of 30-49 year-olds and those 50 or olr.
And Rsia, El Salvador and Venezuela, those younger than 30 are more tolerant of homosexualy than are those ag 50 and olr, while the views of those ag 30-49 do not vary nsirably om those the youngt and olst groups. Across the predomantly Mlim untri surveyed, as well as the six sub-Saharan untri, solid majori across age groups share the view that homosexualy should be rejected by society. In Lebanon, however, there is somewhat more acceptance among younger rponnts; 27% of Lebane younger than 30 say homosexualy should be accepted, pared wh 17% of 30-49 year-olds and 10% of those 50 or olr.

The most important takeaway isn’t a fal tally of the gay people society, but, rather, an unrstandg of the ways which surveys and other existg attempts to measure such thgs might be slightly misleadg. “The rults show non-heterosexualy and anti-gay sentiment are substantially unrtimated existg surveys, and the privacy afford by current bt practic is not always sufficient to elimate bias, ” note the rearchers, who were jt lookg at the way surveys might unr-unt both homosexualy and attus toward homosexualy.
