I was lucky enough to arrive at Sydney Universy 1972 a climate of stunt activism that drew on the civil rights, women's liberatn and early gay liberatn movements of the Uned Stat. It was a plea for the acceptance of our brief snapshot of homosexual-themed popular culture provid the back drop to the explosn of gay rights activism that I was lucky enough to jo the early that wild night 1978 was preced by sr of other monstratns and public meetgs — and by the systematic lobbyg of muny and polil lears. The early Gay Liberatn movement protted and sought unsuccsfully to have was at a Penny Short monstratn Gee Street Sydney that I first was given a megaphone to lead the chants.
