When they vised, Apartment 6-E at 211 Wt Twentieth Street proved even better than advertised. The ceilgs were eleven feet high, and the wdows and pendant lamps flood light across a wood-burng fireplace, Mi Barcelona chairs, and a Wt Elm sofa set topped wh Hermès blankets. Almost everythg was dazzlg whe: walls, floors, furnure—even the books were cloaked whe jackets.</p><p class="paywall">The apartment’s owner and imprar was a photographer named Michael Tammaro. In profile, Tammaro, who was fifty-four, rembled the Indian on the Buffalo nickel, but he was a fey charmer who adorned his shaved head wh a drivg p and his arms wh a Cartier watch and a gold Hermès bracelet. The one nstant of his ever-changg dér was Tucker, a boistero p-bull-and-shepherd-mix rcue dog. On Facebook, he posted a photo of him and his dog on a rocky beach and ptned “Fay Portra.”</p><p class="paywall">Tammaro shot stars om Ta Fey to Spike Lee, puttg his subjects at ease wh a Boston-accented purr: “C’mon, baby, you’re so cute—yeah, you’re so sexy!” He ed the apartment as his backdrop, and every tail of the scene promised accs and glamour. As he took the official photographs for the Tribe Film Ftival, or posed mols for <em>Vogue</em>, as many as seven assistants would be adjtg the lightg, changg the lens, and servg mojos to managers and edors and hangers-on. He was equal parts tsty Sherpa and romantic-edy nfidant. He showed Bon Tjeenk Willk, a Dutch nsultant for Ba & Company, photos he’d taken of Kristen Stewart right where they were standg, and, Tjeenk Willk rells, “He promised, ‘I’ll take you to all the Hollywood parti.’ I thought, I’m gog to have the bt time New York!”</p><p class="paywall">Everyone wanted : an admistrator for Mawell clothg who was returng om L.A. to be near her widowed mother; a photographer relotg om Berl wh her dghter durg a ntent ctody battle; a South Ain st manager hopg to jump-start her life; a pater who’d left his girliend and need a place to plete his transformatn to a betiful woman named Nyx. Even the actrs Sean Young sought to be Tammaro’s roommate.</p><div data-attr-viewport-monor="le-recirc" class="le-recirc-wrapper le-recirc-observer-target-1 viewport-monor-anchor"></div><p class="paywall">They uldn’t all rent the apartment, of urse. In April, 2012, Tammaro was offerg a summer sublet, and seemed like a perfect place for them to live while Juliet shot the show that they hoped would make them famo: a seri of datg-advice vios for YouTube.</p><p class="paywall">Juliet was a wry, self-ntaed woman her late twenti; Douglas, who helped manage his fay’s real-tate holdgs, was a few years olr and rembled Newman on “Sefeld.” They both liked their future landlord. “Michael oozed an easy charm,” Douglas relled. “Banterg, nfint, super-flamboyant.” And he said that they were wele to e his lights and C-stands. And bee, like every New Yorker, I thought, I’m so sophistited.”</p><p class="paywall">In the weeks before the move, Tammaro was nstantly touch by text. Yet he was tratgly nonmtal about providg keys and nfirmg that a promised washer-dryer had been stalled. And his spellg and syntax ma his texts a puzzle: “I am have lease fed x Ed to me I’m not my Ny I n not sell wh out parent work.” As his voice mail was always full, was hard to get the jumbl ciphered.</p><p class="paywall">Douglas and Juliet were fally set to move on July 1st. Six days before, Tammaro e-mailed to say, “Sadly my father past away sudnly on sat.” His fay was stayg wh him, so he’d need the apartment for two more weeks. The uple wrote a note of sympathy and found emergency acmodatns Williamsburg. Tammaro sent equent updat: he was nsolg his mother, attendg a memorial at his father’s club, alg wh the tate tax. He promised that Douglas and Juliet uld have the place Augt 1st—but then his mother had a stroke, perhaps brought on by all the strs. Could they rchle for Augt 15th? Or maybe a b later? As they took a taxi om Kennedy Airport, they turned their phon back on—and received a text om Tammaro, sayg that he had to give the apartment up, bee his landlord was raisg the rent to seventy-six hundred dollars. He add that he was “very prsed shuttg off phon.” They were dumbfound. “In the first place, he’d told Juliet that he owned the apartment,” Douglas said. “In the send—what the fuck!”</p><figure A man and a woman lled up, “We rented the apartment!” Stunned, Douglas was silent for a moment, and then he shouted, “You’d better e up, and we’ll talk.” Fdg out that the apartment wasn’t theirs alone “was a dolly-unter-zoom moment for ,” he said, “like the mera move Hchck ma ‘Vertigo’—we stayed the same, but the entire background changed.”</p><p class="paywall">Insi, the upl exchanged stori. The other renters were Bra Lombardi and Gav Bishop, a well-nnected hband and wife their early forti. I’m on some many dgs and oxydone. Pa is really bad I thk I have a bleedg ulster.” He said he’d need more time, until September 9th, and then grew creasgly evasive. So they went to his buildg on the nth—and found Douglas and Juliet. The four of them talked for hours, stg the whe uch and armchairs, as Tucker roamed the apartment anxly, at one pot givg Bishop a warng nip. Renters ferred that he was simply jugglg too many balls. “He kept sayg he was gog to FedEx the keys, but he was flighty about , an airhead—like a lot of people the bs,” Tara Kelly, the Mawell manager, said. “I was ed to grown men needg help.”</p><p class="paywall">—<em>The Blockout</em>. Days before the schled move-—even the day of, as someone was en route om the airport—Tammaro would wre wh terrible news: he had veloped an ulcer; his landlady had jacked up the rent; he had fallen om a sffoldg while shootg the Olympic Gam London, and staed a head jury that left him wh nsea and amnia. His preferred tragedy, though, was his father’s ath—guaranteed to w sympathy and buy time. Last June, he spun the full fay romance to Damien, om Japan, scribg the fay he might have wished for: “I’m sorry to say my father passed away sudnly last night. It is a shock for my fay as he was 67 and val. My parents were still together and very happy.” (Aled Tammaro is remarried and livg Maln, Massachetts; his wife, Jean, told me that he and Michael “haven’t spoken thirty years, so I would gus Michael’s md he is ad.”)</p><p class="paywall">Tammaro would then expla that his fay was grievg his apartment. His mother, Julie—or his sister Julie, or his brother Alex—would then follow up to clarify that, though the grievg procs was takg longer than expected, Julie, the mother, would soon move to Colorado wh Julie the dghter, or else to Atralia (or sometim Hawaii) wh Alex. Of urse, Alex was a junkie, and Julie the mom—the only member of this fay who actually exists—wasn’t eager to move so far away. In late July, a prospective renter named Holly Van Straten, a trag manager for the Oneworld airle alliance, ran a very thorough Google search on him. “I’m sgle,” Van Straten said, “so you’ve got to check people out pretty refully.” She found nothg untoward, even on the thirtieth page.</p><p class="paywall">Meanwhile, Tammaro would offer to pay his renters’ hotel bills and storage sts—or else to return the pos if they uldn’t wa. After spendg a week limbo on a iend’s uch, Ldsey Brake, the South Ain st manager, said, “I knew was a b fishy, but bee was such a nice apartment I was really mted to .”</p><p class="paywall">Eventually, though, even the hardit uch-surfer would ask for a refund. The renter would be assured a stream of texts that he was gog to get his money by msenger later that day, or that the new check would clear, or, anyway, that would all get straightened out as soon as a tlome impediment—“I’m shootg Stg for Vany fair he is nng late”—had been swept om Tammaro’s path. Wh Jose, om Atralia, Tammaro’s fets and dodg across two months clud: send me acunt number aga; how much do I owe you; gettg on a plane; I had my sister Julie handle ; bank read Julie’s handwrg wrong; sorry, but I had to pay out $10,000 for my dad’s burial; sorry neher check went through; tell your lawyer that you refed payment through Paypal and see what he says; lost my phone and jt now found your number; Tucker is very ill; drivg the ra; wag for funds to clear.</p><p class="paywall">If a renter mentned lawyers, Tammaro would reply that his own attorney was now gog to have to rearch the matter: “you brought up lawyers and police what was I supposed to do.” And he was expert the imaged slight. In early September, Uno Vje, a harpist om Norway, agreed to wa to move ; meanwhile, he and his girliend would crash at the Norwegian Seamen’s Church. But, when Vje polely quired whether he uld get the rrpondg portn of his pos back, Tammaro replied that the requt was such an afont to a photographer of his stature that he didn’t want them to move , after all.</p><p class="paywall">By scriptg the daily dramas, Tammaro retaed not only his victims’ money but also their full attentn. They were all prisoners of his whims. Damien, here for the summer om Japan wh his wife and two small dghters, was one of several renters who eventually sued Tammaro; he sought to rever $10,400 rent and some six thoand dollars stopgap-hog sts. When Ldsey Brake, the st manager, who had ma arrangements entirely by e-mail, me by to get her keys, she saw Tammaro for the first time, stg his Merces out ont. “Michael?” she said, uncertaly. “Y!” he said, givg her a kiss. “Don’t you remember me?” He told another renter that his father wasn’t dog well—two days after sayg that he was ad.</p><p class="paywall">The ps at the Tenth Precct were growg acctomed to foreigners wh Tammaro-related plats, many of them sent over by Jan Zonon after they rang her bell. The renters often met wh Capta Jack Jaskaran, a former supervisor of the cy’s Grand Larceny Task Force and an expert fightg pickpockets. He would tell them that they had a choice: the official route of a plat, which wouldn’t get them their money back, or street jtice. As New Yorkers will, they chose the latter. After signg a lease, and patiently wag two months (father’s ath, followed by fall om sffoldg), Vardhan noticed the apartment for rent aga on Craigslist. Tammaro explaed that his sister had posted the ad by mistake, but Vardhan fally grew spic. Even as he tried to meet Tammaro to get his money back, he set up a unter-stg: he had a female iend make an appotment to see the loft at 2:30 <em class="small">P.M.</em> on Augt 26th. That day at noon, Vardhan and his iend went to Twentieth Street and spotted Tammaro, bent over his iPhone, walkg Tucker. When Tammaro me down, Vardhan and Jaskaran were wag. “The pta lost on him,” Vardhan rells, “sayg, ‘How n you be nfed about rentg your apartment to more than one person?’ Tammaro beme a meek dog.” At the same time, though, the photographer saw Vardhan’s iend standg nearby, and gtured to her to wa. “You know she’s wh , right?” Jaskaran said. “You n’t cheat her, too.”</p><div data-attr-viewport-monor="le-recirc" class="le-recirc-wrapper le-recirc-observer-target-5 viewport-monor-anchor"></div><p class="paywall">Vardhan promptly went onto Craigslist, Yelp, and MerchantCircle and blasted Tammaro as a smmer. After helpg to set up a Google Group for renters to share their stori, he wrote Tammaro to say that “your name will brg up all rmatn about you a Google search om now on.” As the pursu closed , Tammaro’s tactics grew wilr. He sent Clark Sims, a programmer, an e-mail that purported to be om David Geffen: “I have beena aware of Michael,s difficulti and I am here to help,” the supposed Geffen wrote om his “dreamworks@gmail” addrs, addg that “ichael is a talent but has issu.” Sims, who after losg his pos would spend five months beddg down a piano stud Tribe, rpond sternly that Tammaro should vote himself to makg a plan for rtutn, as his sperate s “will be ed to prove <em>mens rea</em> (crimal tent) and to impeach your credibily (you habually lie).”</p><p class="paywall">By Labor Day, the post office was receivg mail for forty-two people 6-E, and Tammaro’s assistants were tired of lyg about his whereabouts and beg yelled at Spanish, French, or Bengali. “Michael would start drkg at 6 <em class="small">P.M.</em>,” his assistant Jean said. “And the morng there’d be bloodstas on the floor, powr on his sk, bottl and vials everywhere. One of his assistants asked him, ‘What’s gog on?’ He went to this cryg rant about how his brother is ad, his mother is prison, he’s battlg addictn, and thgs are about to crash down. The assistant said, ‘Do you need help?’ And Michael said, ‘Y. I don’t re about people anymore.’ He onted like a big shot, but he was jt lonely. Only the dog loved him.”</p><p class="paywall">That lonels unrpned his fal gamb, the <em>I</em>’<em>m the Te Victim Here</em>. He asked one renter, “How many Tylenol PM would take to end all?,” then told Bra Lombardi that suici seemed like the only way out: “I’m nature wh tucker and don’t see much of a future for me I have been a bad seed all my life.” Wh any given victim, Tammaro slowly shifted om an omnipetent dazzler to a piable wretch buffaloed by circumstance. And this, too, he reprented Manhattan, the cy that dreams works betifully and daily life is a btal gantlet.</p><p class="has-dropp has-dropp__lead-standard-headg paywall">As the accatory texts mounted, and Tammaro began preëmptively sellg off his furnure, he drew fort om the renters who still believed him. Kenny Song and Yvonne Moon, an Asian-Amerin uple their twenti, had paid Tammaro $3,650, expectg to move on September 1st. A few days beforehand, sadly, Tammaro’s father died. Song and Moon arranged to meet the photographer at a Starbucks near his apartment on Augt 30th, and, when he texted to say that he wasn’t home and uldn’t make , Moon, a sociable barista, replied, “But we have somethg to give you bee your father died!” Tammaro showed up a few mut later, wh his glass broken and taped, and they prented him wh a bouquet of Stargazer lili. He was so touched that he wrote them a check for $3,650 on the spot.</p><p class="paywall">As happened, Tammaro was arrted that afternoon—someone fally prsed a plat at the Tenth Precct—then released on his own regnizance. When Song and Moon told him that there weren’t any funds the Cibank acunt he’d wrten the check on, he apologized and met them at Starbucks aga. He said that he was takg pakillers for his ulcers, but seemed glad to see them. “Everyone was givg him sh then,” Song said later, “and we might have been the only people who were his iends.” The photographer gave them fifteen hundred dollars sh and wrote another check for the rt; his hand was shakg so badly that Moon had to sign for him. Then he said, “If you need a place to crash, you n always stay wh me.”</p><p class="paywall">When that check, om a Chase acunt, bounced, Tammaro met them at Starbucks for the third day a row. This time, he pulled up his Merces. Moon rells, “He had checkbooks all over the back, on the passenger seat, spillg out of the glove partment. The thg was a rollg checkbook! He gave eight hundred dollars sh, then started lookg for a checkbook that might work for the balance. Fally, he me to the ‘Michael Tammaro Photographer’ acunt, and he gave me a pen and said, ‘You wre —this one should work!’ ” Song adds, “But didn’t.”</p><p class="paywall">Tammaro never realized that Moon and Song were playg him. When he told them that his father had died, they’d checked onle and found the sm warngs, which by then were rife. They went to the Tenth Precct, and Capta Jaskaran specified the threat they should e: “We’ve ntacted the police and are ready to prs charg, but we’ll give you an opportuny to give our money back, so you won’t get arrted.” They cid that sympathy would work better. Moon says, “If somebody sympathized wh him, he always rpond right away.” The lili were tactil, bought at Whole Foods for ten dollars the mut after Moon promised him a gift.</p><p class="paywall">A few days after his arrt, Tammaro moved to an n Sag Harbor. His ex strategy, seemgly, was to fd a hoe out there and assemble his book of photographs. At tim, he said that was a Tribe Film Ftival project—but he was not, as he claimed, the ftival’s photographer. Rather, his agency ntacted filmmakers directly, the hope that news outlets would pay for the rultg photos. (Nor was he a member of Soho Hoe or a iend of David Geffen’s.) And, while Tammaro romanticized his own artistry, his photographs were mostly portras that were notable chiefly for their technil assurance, or else pouty pictur of semi-nu men: they exposed flh whout revealg character. His Hamptons pe plan was further hred by his havg alienated lol real-tate agents and bounced a $13,700 check for the down payment on a hoe rental. And, of urse, by the fact that the Uned Stat has an extradn treaty wh Sag Harbor.</p><p class="has-dropp has-dropp__lead-standard-headg paywall">Amid the chaos, Tammaro seems to have fotten that he’d given Douglas and Juliet keys. So he was Sag Harbor when he got Douglas’s e-mail, on September 9th, sayg that he and Juliet had “taken posssn” of the apartment, and that if Tammaro attempted to ga accs “I will have no choice but to ll the police.” The photographer rpond wh a volley of threats, focsg chiefly on Tucker’s stat as a prisoner of war, until Douglas was moved to wre “What part of <em class="small">GIVE ME BACK MY MONEY At the lp, Douglas almost didn’t regnize Tammaro whout his drivg p and the cue of his whispery voice. “It was very disorientg,” he told me, “like seeg Chapl whout the mtache and the ne.” A grand jury dicted the photographer on twelve unts of grand larceny and two of a scheme to d; eventually, prosecutors loted forty-five victims, who’d been relieved of at least a hundred and nety-two thoand dollars. An unknown tally of others were too embarrassed or sponnt to e forward.</p><p class="has-dropp has-dropp__lead-standard-headg paywall">Jan Zonon believed that the arrt would end her problems. There was only one person left the apartment—Tammaro’s iend Jen Gatien was stayg for a few days—and she’d promised to leave as soon as Tucker was settled. Yet on September 26th Zonon found the apartment set up like an office; half a dozen workers were the livg room, wh their laptops open. Incrlo, she asked, “Who the hell are all you people?”</p><p class="paywall">Gatien, a personable film producer, had met Tammaro 2011, at the Tribe Film Ftival; she was débutg her documentary “Limelight,” and Tammaro took her photograph. At the ftival the followg year, Tammaro shot her aga and imprsed her wh his reee swagger. They stck up a iendship. He took re of her Doberman pscher when she was travellg—then prevailed on her for a thoand-dollar loan to help tablish a fense fund for his brother. Thrilled by the low-st opportuny, she gave him twenty-six hundred dollars toward his rent, and, wh the apartment empty after Tammaro’s arrt, she moved her staff . A iend began livg one bedroom, origally to help wh the dog-walkg. Then Gatien allowed two crew members to sleep over when they were town. After Zonon failed to shame the squatters wh glar the elevator (and, later, by nng across her floor high heels and blastg a Keh Jarrett CD when they had a loud party), she filed a Notice of Termatn hog urt, askg for Tammaro and his subtenants to be evicted. From Rikers Island, Tammaro replied wh a threat: he lled Zonon’s management agency and left a msage sayg that if his buzzer, back bathroom, and dishwasher weren’t fixed two days he would sue. “Or we’ll jt turn the water on, and she n pay for the damag unrneath. How do this sound?”</p><p class="paywall">Gatien eventually wearied of her morally ambiguo sublet, and got ready to move out at Thanksgivg. (The others stayed on till early January, then left wh the thermostat set to nety-two gre and the toilets clogged wh paper towels.) But, as Tammaro seemed likely to rema jail for some time, she had to fd Tucker a new home. It happened that one of her crew members, Tim Bno, was crazy about Tucker, so Gatien let him take the dog to upstate New York.</p><p class="paywall">On Febary 7th, however, at a hearg New York Supreme Court, Tammaro’s attorney said that he acknowledged dg his victims and was pleadg guilty to grand larceny the send gree. Tammaro sat attentively wh his hands manacled behd his back. Behd him, Bra Lombardi watched alongsi Douglas and Juliet, who’d fally found an apartment, Queens. They all wore stern exprsns. “I want to make sure even Burger Kg wouldn’t hire him,” Juliet told me.</p><div data-attr-viewport-monor="le-recirc" class="le-recirc-wrapper le-recirc-observer-target-7 viewport-monor-anchor"></div><p class="paywall">The prosecutor asked for a prison sentence of two to six years. Instead, Judge Michael Ob told Tammaro that he’d have two years to pay all the victims back, and the meantime he’d be on “terim probatn.” When the Judge asked if he unrstood that if he failed to make rtutn he would go to prison, Tammaro bent forward, and, his most acmodatg voice, said, “I do.” The bailiff unlocked Tammaro’s cuffs, and Lombardi sucked her breath. “Wow,” she said. “He go back to the apartment!”</p><p class="has-dropp has-dropp__lead-standard-headg paywall">Two weeks later, Tammaro was across the street hog urt to face Jan Zonon. Before the hearg, he slouched on a bench down the hall om the urtroom, attired a black p, rimls spectacl, a black jacket, and black leather zip-up boots, like the bad guy a spaghetti Wtern. At the other end of the hall, Zonon sat wh Douglas and Juliet; for luck, she’d worn her late hband’s socks and slipped her weddg rg back on. In the middle, her lawyer and Tammaro’s sparred about what would take for the photographer to relquish the apartment. At one pot, Zonon got up to nsult wh her lawyer and returned astonishment. “You n’t make this stuff up,” she said. “They wanted to know, if he looks for another apartment, if I would give him a reference.”</p><p class="paywall">Once the lawyers agreed that Zonon wouldn’t rpond to any future landlord’s quiry, and Zonon agreed to waive five months of back rent, Tammaro agreed to clear out, and the judge ma official. Zonon staggered om the urtroom, hugged her lawyer, and burst to tears. Tammaro’s tenancy had st her more than nety-five thoand dollars legal fe alone.</p><p class="paywall">I went over to Tammaro, on his bench, and said, “Michael Tammaro?”</p><p class="paywall">“No,” he He remaed bent over his iPhone, never lookg up.</p><p class="has-dropp has-dropp__lead-standard-headg paywall">Knowg that he was about to lose his base mp, Tammaro sought to rebuild both fancially and emotnally. When he got out of prison and disvered that Tucker was gone, his wrath was so tense that Jen Gatien fally told him she’d given the dog to Tim Bno. In an e-mail, Bno told Tammaro that he and his son adored their new pet, and plead to keep him. Tammaro replied wh thanks, but said, “Tucker is like my child.” Bno rpond wh a startlg admissn: three weeks earlier, Tucker “ran to the road and a r stck him, he died stantly.” Bno add that he had whheld this val tail, “one bee I don’t want to break [Tammaro’s] heart wh tragic news, and two I had heard that when jail he threatened to kill Jen if anythg happened to his dog.” While many rears of those e-mails might be skeptil of Bno’s acunt, particularly as he didn’t clu his last name the rrponnce, Tammaro seemed nvced. He warned Gatien that he’d tell every producer she had ever worked wh that she stole om him, and threatened to start a blog lled “Jen Gatien Killed My Dog.”</p><p class="paywall">But Gatien had an unsought tactil advantage. She had left a book of starter checks behd Tammaro’s apartment, and wh two weeks of his release he had removed about twenty-four hundred dollars om her acunt. After Gatien told prosecutors her story, he was arrted aga, and later dicted on eight unts of fery and grand larceny.</p><p class="paywall">On March 6th, Tammaro was back before Judge Ob. Sportg a tonsure that ma him look like Christopher Lloyd, he addrsed the Judge, twistg forward an attu of nocence. “It’s—I wouldn’t do . I mean, you have been so kd to me—why would I blow that for a uple of hundred dollars of checks? . . . It mak no sense.” It was a nvcg speech. Julie Tammaro, whout seekg to exce her son, says, “I really thk he believ, his diseased md, he had no tentn of smmg people.”</p><p class="paywall">Ob, glarg down and llg Tammaro’s swift return to his urtroom “que amazg,” remand him to ctody. The photographer plead not guilty, but there remaed the strong possibily that he uld be sentenced to prison for the apartment sm as early as the next hearg, on June 6th.</p><div data-attr-viewport-monor="le-recirc" class="le-recirc-wrapper le-recirc-observer-target-8 viewport-monor-anchor"></div><p class="paywall">Tammaro did have a b of satisfactn, perhaps. In March, he’d stalled a iend om Rikers the apartment, wh the explanatn that he was helpg pack up. No packg got done, however, and later that month Zonon marched downstairs to terpt what she spected was a dg al. There were three men the loft, and she uld see that both beds had been slept . “This place has been a turnstile for rifaff!” she thunred. “It stops now. Meet me downstairs half an hour wh the keys!” Cowed, they did, and after twenty years the apartment was fally vant. The walls were banged up, the floors scuffed, a bathroom sk had somehow gone missg, and the whole place—stripped of s keepsak and li, s romance—now seemed shabby and small.</p><p class="has-dropp has-dropp__lead-standard-headg paywall">Clark Sims, the programmer, eventually retreated to a ndo Charlotte, North Carola, which, to his surprise, was jt as advertised: “I had this picture that would be a burnt-out shell of a buildg.” Nyx Kanne, the transgenr artist, told me, “I end up movg back to Richmond and startg over on someone’s uch.” She had lost fifty-six hundred dollars to Tammaro and spent the rt of her savgs on storage and dog kennels as she waed: “It’s pletely fucked up my life.”</p><p class="paywall">Tammaro’s victims often me to see him as a tt admistered by Manhattan self, an appraisal of their moxie. Srabh Vardhan said, “There was the anger not jt at the smmer but at myself for beg so stupid. I was overly acmodatg of his father passg away—you’ve got to be a lot more cynil New York.” Bra Lombardi still hasn’t found a new place wh her hband or had her back surgery, but she remaed feisty: “My dream is, Tammaro has to ctn off his posssns bee he’s so broke, and I buy some of his photos and then wre him a letter: ‘I love your image of so-and-so. And ’s me now!’ ”</p><p class="paywall">Kenny Song and Yvonne Moon, who got most of their money back and who eventually found a sublet Alphabet Cy, treat their experience as a re of passage, and have even talked about visg Tammaro jail. They probably won’t, though.
