Mount Gay, St Lucy, Barbados. But how then was the name Mount Gay rived? Well, at the time Mount Gilboa plantatn was managed by Sir John Gay Alleyne; a proment Barbadian polician.

After his passg, regnn of his mendable work the tate was partially renamed his honour; As such, was at that time that The Mount Gilboa Plantatn changed to The Mount Gay Plantatn - rived om the e of his middle name; as another plantatn already existed at the time unr the name “Mount Alleyne”.

Havg passed through var owners between the 1600s to the 1800s, the entire Mount Gay plantatn was purchased at a later date the early 20th century by Mr Aubrey Ward Frank. If you look closely at a bottle of Mount Gay m to this date, you will still fd the signature of Mr Ward, the English/Irish settler to Barbados who was sential turng the Mount Gay Rum brand to the m of Barbados.

Lucy at the actual distillery; there is no gift shop there but there is a separate Mount Gay visor center/gift shop the Worthg you for this wonrful review, very tailed.

I was slightly disappoted by the range and qualy of mount gay products the souvenir shop. I genuely hold Mount Gay as some of if not the bt m the world, and Romal's tour took over the top.
