Do not be ceived; neher the sexually immoral (or fornitors), nor idolators, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals (or sodom; lerally those who have , or who sleep, wh men), nor thiev, nor the greedy, nor dnkards, nor revilers, nor robbers will her the kgdom of God. ORTHODOX CHRISTIANS WHO STRONGLY FAVOR OR FAVOR GAY MARRIAGE
Like all temptatns, passns and ss, cludg those eply, and oftentim seemgly libly embedd our nature by our sorrowful herance, homosexual orientatn n be cured and homosexual actns n cease. When homosexual Christians are willg to stggle, and when they receive patient, passnate and thentilly lovg assistance om their fai and iends – each of whom is stgglg wh his or her own temptatns and ss; for no one is whout this stggle one form or another, and no one is whout s but God – the Lord guarante victory ways known to Himself. However, there is scientific evince that there are blogil factors volved some other subsets of those who have a homosexual orientatn as well (Camper-Ciani, Corna, Capiluppi, 2004; Savic, Berglund & Ldstrom, 2005).
Clilly and pastorally I do not and would not attempt to treat homosexualy by changg the object of sexual sire unls the signated patient (or spirual disciple) were clearly motivated to do so. The other thg that bothers me is that there is a good number of people the Church onle and real life who say pretty nasty thgs about gay people sayg God will kill them or that homosexuals are impure when realy there are more gay people the world than most people thk or realize.
One of the most emotnal, moral, and polilly charged issu the Uned Stat (and the world at large) has alt wh over the last 35 years or so has been that of homosexualy and the rights of those cizens who have openly intified themselv as homosexual or gay. The basic premise for dog so is that although the Church's posn on homosexualy has not changed and may be rtated, the Church's ultimate ncern has always been for the people who are engaged this activy or have intified themselv as homosexuals.
