“It’s not a lot, but ’s a lot for me only dog Deadlifts for power for five weeks, ” Gay says, addg, “It’s hard not to overdo wh the trag, but I’m learng how to be patient. The Deadlift, Squat and RDL were Gay’s primary lower-body lifts durg his six-week power phase. From there, Gay transned to the explosive phase, g the same lifts as he did the power phase.
After nearly two months of long ns on grass and up hills—”The purpose of that is to keep the poundg off my body, ” he says—Gay returned to the track, performg real block starts for distanc of 30 and 60 meters. If everythg works acrdg to plan, Gay will peak this summer when he’s ready to n for the gold.
