SM Gays is a Brish group formed to enurage gay men who practice SM (meang sadism and masochism) to do so safely.

It was found London July of 1981, and was patterned after Gay Male SM Activists (GMSMA), which had been found New York earlier that year.
A Brish police vtigatn lled Operatn Spanner culmated the nvictn of sixteen men for g marks, bis, cuts and other non-ser juri durg nsensual SM sex; SM Gays provid the astcture that started Countdown on Spanner, which began 1992 and helped anize and fance the men’s legal fense. SM Gays is also noted for nductg many class and monstratns, and for publishg two booklets rpondg to the HIV epimic.
In 1996, Countdown on Spanner received the Large Nonprof Organizatn of the Year award as part of the Pantheon of Leather Awards; SM Gays provid the astcture that started Countdown on Spanner. SM Gays was ducted to the Leather Hall of Fame 2021. But Gays only!!
