Orlando has long played host to a vibrant gay muny. Due to creased acceptance, the gay nightlife scene, as was once known, has begun to dimish. However, the impact of historic LGBTQ+ venu on both gay and Central Florida history should not be unrstated.
In January 2021, a long-standg bastn of Orlando’s gay muny was torn down after shutterg November 2020. Legendary performers such as Eartha Kt brought a few mastream listeners as well as the ual, exuberant gay crowds. Yet, miraculoly, the hotel was purchased by Michael Hodge and Bill Miller 1975, wealthy queer vtors who saw potential transformg the sad hotel property to a fabulo new gay-geared venue.
