In the early 1970s a number of GLF supporters lived squats Brixton, and formed the South London Gay Communy Centre at 78 Railton Road. From 1981-2010, The Fridge nightclub, found by Andrew Czezowski, Town Hall Para was one of London’s most popular gay clubs.
From 1992-2001, Love Mcle was a popular gay night on Saturdays and drew thoands of followers om all over London. The Loughborough Hotel beme a gay venue the 1980s and early 1990s. The Prce of Wal on the rner of Coldharbour Lane and Brixton Road was a gay venue until 1987.
Gay Pri (see London Pri) held s ftival Brockwell Park 1993 and 1994 – Lambeth town hall flew a eedom flag. The only gay (now gay-iendly) venue left Brixton is the fé bar and rtrant SW9 at 11 Dorrell Place.

A secret gay bar owned by a black bisexual woman opened on a quiet street Brixton 1977, across om a pub notor for not allowg black or gay people si. It was a risky cisn to take at the time due to proment racist and homophobic views.
The landlord of the pub nearby, The Gee which was on the rner of Efa Para and Railton Road, was reportedly known to be a racist and attracted further anger om the lol muny when he banned gays 1975.
