That extends to newer Brendan Doolg, who stars as one of the leadg lady's bt iends on SATC prequel <a href="><em>The Carrie Diari</em></a>. His character Walt Reynolds is a secretly-gay former boyiend of Carrie's <em>other</em> bt iend Maggie. A lot has happened the last few episos, but don't expect any earth-shatterg announcements to happen soon. "The viewers knows what's up, but will take a whole season for anybody to spect anythg about Walt," he says. How do feel to play such an important character?</strong></p><div class="Contaer-bkChBi byNLHx"></div><p>"It's a privilege, and I'm so lucky to have Amy [B. Harris] as a wrer. From the nversatns we've had, she really lov Walt and she wants to tell a really hont story. My high school experience was different, though. I didn't have a re group of iends like Carrie has. I was bouncg around between cliqu. I was iends wh jocks and the theater kids. It hasn't been tablished that Carrie's re four are part of the popular kids, but 's kd of hted at. I wasn't like that."</p><p><strong>Like Carrie, your character dreams of fleeg for the big cy. Did you feel that way growg up?</strong></p><p>"Absolutely. I lived Bellport, New York, a nice suburban town. I was also seekg somethg more."</p><p><strong>What's like to be part of such a young set?</strong></p><p>"It's a blast. Everybody gets along really well. We have st dners a lot, and everybody gets together and hangs out. It's a fay atmosphere. The crew and productn, too, are so kd and funny. There's a really great vibe on set."</p><p><strong>How did feel to sudnly land this big TV show?</strong></p><p>"It's a dream e te. It's a relief to have such secury bee 's not every day you book a TV show, you know? It's like a full-time job, so if we get a send season, I'll be booked om June until March. And if we don't, then 's back to dng."</p><p><strong>Do you have any other projects g up?</strong></p><div data-attr-viewport-monor="le-recirc" class="le-recirc-wrapper le-recirc-observer-target-2 viewport-monor-anchor"></div><p>"Nothg g up at the moment. My last day of filmg this season is tomorrow, so I have to start dng next week. I haven't booked anythg for the terim. I had a very small role Guy Pearce's film <em>Breathe In</em>. It's a small part, but I like to say I lubrite the movie. I'm also a movie lled <em>Charlie, Trevor, and a Girl Savannah</em>."</p><p><strong>What's your bt advice for buddg actors?</strong></p><p>"I thk 's really important to distance yourself om the characters you're dng for. Obvly you want to vt yourself any character you're the nng for, but you need a sense of separatn so that your heart isn't gettg broken after every dn. That's how I started 2009 and I had so many let-downs. From the nversatns we've had, she really lov Walt and she wants to tell a really hont story. My high school experience was different, though. I didn't have a re group of iends like Carrie has. I was bouncg around between cliqu. I was iends wh jocks and the theater kids. It hasn't been tablished that Carrie's re four are part of the popular kids, but 's kd of hted at. I wasn't like that."</p><p><strong>Like Carrie, your character dreams of fleeg for the big cy. Did you feel that way growg up?</strong></p><p>"Absolutely. I lived Bellport, New York, a nice suburban town. I was also seekg somethg more."</p><p><strong>What's like to be part of such a young set?</strong></p><p>"It's a blast. Everybody gets along really well. We have st dners a lot, and everybody gets together and hangs out. It's a fay atmosphere. The crew and productn, too, are so kd and funny. There's a really great vibe on set."</p><p><strong>How did feel to sudnly land this big TV show?</strong></p><p>"It's a dream e te. It's a relief to have such secury bee 's not every day you book a TV show, you know? It's like a full-time job, so if we get a send season, I'll be booked om June until March. And if we don't, then 's back to dng."</p><p><strong>Do you have any other projects g up?</strong></p><div data-attr-viewport-monor="le-recirc" class="le-recirc-wrapper le-recirc-observer-target-2 viewport-monor-anchor"></div><p>"Nothg g up at the moment. My last day of filmg this season is tomorrow, so I have to start dng next week. I haven't booked anythg for the terim. I had a very small role Guy Pearce's film <em>Breathe In</em>. It's a small part, but I like to say I lubrite the movie. I'm also a movie lled <em>Charlie, Trevor, and a Girl Savannah</em>."</p><p><strong>What's your bt advice for buddg actors?</strong></p><p>"I thk 's really important to distance yourself om the characters you're dng for. Obvly you want to vt yourself any character you're the nng for, but you need a sense of separatn so that your heart isn't gettg broken after every dn. That's how I started 2009 and I had so many let-downs.
