I have heard many vague claims such as “Many atheists are agast homosexualy/gay rights. Of urse is te that relign don't have a monopoly on homophobia, though most of the time those speakg out agast homosexualy do so on relig grounds. I've heard few statements by atheists about why they don’t support homosexualy/LGBT rights, and here is how I personally refute agast anti-homosexualy atheists' claims:.

Studi have shown children of heterosexual upl are signifintly better off than those of homosexual upl. The study was flawed for MANY reasons but the ma flaw would be that the homosexual sample of sgle parents, mimum wage earners, would be pared to the heterosexual sample nsistg of married, high e upl. I have only seen studi showg that homosexual upl are no more or ls f to raise children.
Though if I were to some across a study showg that children of homosexual upl suffer more on average than heterosexual upl I would most likely claim that would mostly likely be bee of the way society treats them for havg two parents of the same sex and NOT the flt of the parents. I will say that plac where church are actually allowed to give out marriage licens that they shouldn't be allowed to discrimate sce they are now alg wh a ernment stutn my opn, but when to simple ceremoni they should be allowed to be as anti-gay marriage as they please.
