When gay men were nonted about wrg ‘no Blacks’ or ‘no Latos’ on their profil, many of them beme fensive. * racism in gay community *
On gay datg apps like Grdr, many ers have profil that nta phras like “I don’t date Black men, ” or that claim they are “not attracted to Latos. Dpe polls showg the growg acceptance of LGBTQ+ people the US – and the Supreme Court lg earlier this month guaranteeg employment protectns for gays, lbians, and transgenr workers – there’s still great dispary wh the broar muny between people of lor and their whe unterparts. Referencg a study that found the per-pa rate of fatal shootgs by officers to be 70% lower partments wh black police chiefs than those wh whe learship, our panelists suggted that efforts need to be directed at and enuraged wh policg stutns to unteract ongog racism, homophobia, transphobia, and profilg. But another far more pernic reason is that the LGBT world revolv around whe gay men to the excln of others.
