DRAGON QUT 11’S SYLVANDO IS A COMPLITED, GAY CHARACTER – AND THAT’S OKAY

While he still has some tropey flaws attached to him, he acplish one thg that many gay characters utterly fail at: he mak feel like we n be hero, too.

IS SYLVANDO GAY?

Let’s be very clear om the start: one of the biggt flts Sylvando’s story is that he’s never nfirmed to be gay ncretely.

Rather, we know he’s meant to be gay bee he’s d as gay g trop such as his flamboyance, his speech patterns, and some of his special abili all pot to him beg a gay man. This is a shame, as we need out and proud gay role mols, pecially if we want to spire players who are still the closet that beg gay isn’t jt a thg we are, but that n be awome.

ARE GAY PEOPLE OFFEND BY SYLV?

Much of the problem wh gay characters up until now is that they were one-dimensnal people rather than posssg the plex mannerisms, ner life, and rhythms of a real person. Even the bt of tentned gay characters n fall to this trap, so to see a plex gay character portrayed here is a good first step. The one-dimensnal characters that gay people had to endure were also sufferable bee their only pot was to mock gay people.

More than anythg, though, Dragon Qut 11 pats Sylvando as heroic ways few gam do for their gay characters.

SO SYLVANDO IS MOST WELL WRTEN GAY CHARACTER I'VE EVER SEEN A GAME

Even though Dragon Qut 11’s Sylvando isn’t handled perfectly, he’s better than most other gay characters gam up until this pot, and the fact that he even has layers to bate at all speaks well for his portrayal.

Most of all, though, we serve to be the spiratn, to be an example for people, whether they be gay or straight, whout hidg the fact that we’re gay. Trails of Cold Steel is the most unrappreciated JRPG seri plot wh his father not acceptg who he is kda spills Act 1 he is Act 2 and 3 he sudnly beme gay.

Monster Catchg / Dungeon Crawler RPG was always gay (or at least bi), jt be obv act 2/act I believe the pk ship guy is his Canlehead, Karma: 1369 // RIP: Gen_Lee_Enfield, Karma: 1731 // RIP: Orlando of the Axe, Karma: 1642 // RIP nayr626 Karma: 4395 --They livered!
