The movie puts s gayns ont and center, right the tle. We had discsns about changg the tle, but I thought, no, we should fely leave the gay the tle to ward off anybody who that might be a problem for. Bee there’s a lot of humor that a gay dience is obvly gog to get more than a straight dience.

Matt is a ic book geek gay who is heartbroken and not takg any opportuny to get on wh all the boys who are throwg themselv at him. That felt like somethg different for me that I haven’t que seen gay cema lately.

I went through a five-year perd where I dned for the absurdly ritured versns of the gay bt iend. You st yourself as a kd of gay bt iend your movie. But ’s a wty, acerbic gay bt iend who actually is sexualized and not some kd of weirdo asexual, or only there to help the straight person get along.
